Architectural 3D Modelling of a Checkers and Rally's Restaurant

Responsibilities: Using a rough sketch of the restaurant plan and elevation, we had to create.
- 5 rendered views (two perspective views, front elevation and two side elevations) on Google SketchUp.
Checkers and Rally's is a prominent drive-thru restaurant chain that has stores across multiple locations. Our quality of deliverables and professionalism led to an ongoing outsourcing arrangement with the client, during which we have completed more than 50 site plans to date, along with other projects.
Challenges
- The only input we received was a rough sketch with elevation.
- Only one dimension was given for reference.
- The rough sketch lacked dimensions.
Solution
- We created a site plan based on the client's prototypes for other projects.
- The plan was first drafted in AutoCAD and then imported to SketchUp. The building's height was determined based on previous models of Checkers restaurants.
- The model's dimensions were taken from the client's prototype and based on best-fit judgement.
